Let's start with my desk. Note the inevitable bottle of Diet Pepsi; no programmer shall be without one! The cat didn't come with the monitor and sadly, wasn't under warranty. |

The computer to the left of my desk is a big mother. Look how many wires come out of its back! |

There are even more wires underneath my desk, plus connectors for my phone line, ISDN, and cable modem data. |

To the right of my monitor is a set of test instruments that I develop software for. Nice pile, pity I can't show all the wires coming out of their back! |

Well here are some of them... the wires connecting the instruments underneath my desk. |

Behind my instruments is my Network Operating Center. Hard to see, but it's actually two 10-BaseT concentrators, a cable modem, an ISDN router, and an ADSL router in that pile. |

And here is the wiring for my network. Some of it anyway. |

Moving to the right of the test radios, there's a printer, a portable machine, and a monitor and keyboard used with my servers. |

What servers? These servers. Note the authentic MUD sitcker on, what else? Why, the MUD server of course. |

Servers need plenty of wires, even if they don't have individual keyboards and monitors. |

Finally, across the room is my experimenter's desk; tools, a VGA monitor used when I build machines or test motherboards, an oscilloscope, and parts boxes. Oh yes, and more wires underneath! |
