Much to my embarrassment, I never knew until now how to perform advanced searches in Outlook.

I've been using Outlook since... forever. But when I needed to search my messages and the basic search capability was not good enough, I just switched over to a Linux prompt and used grep. Old school, I know.

But today, a friend asked me about this and finally I looked it up. Lo and behold, Outlook indeed has sophisticated search capability (no surprise).

Here are a few self-explanatory examples:

alice
alice bob
alice AND bob
"bob"
from:"bob moore"
cc:bob@moore.com
hasattachment:yes
subject:"exact phrase"
messagesize:>5 MB
received:=6/6/2020
received>=1/1/2020 AND received<=1/31/2020
sent:yesterday

The search function works surprisingly well.
