Pocket TELNET is a telnet
client program for Windows CE-based handheld PCs. I have also developed a version for the
Pocket PC specification.
And now that, courtesy
of Microsoft, I recently became the proud owner of a ViewSonic V37 Pocket PC, I've had the
opportunity to use my own software on this platform, as a result of which it is now better
tested than before. (For instance, all the dialogs now fit the PPC screen!)
Pocket TELNET is also known to work on many other devices, including my NAVMAN
PiN 100 GPS and, according to a recent e-mail from a satisfied user, the UTStarcom smartphone.
(Another user, however, reports that the Enter key does not work on his
UTStarcom 6700, using either the slide-out keyboard or the soft keyboard.
Control-M doesn't work either, severely limiting the program's utility.)
The PPC package (latest version released August 29, 2003) can be downloaded from http://www.vttoth.com/TELNET_PPC.exe. If you are accessing the Web from your handheld, you can also download these files from http://www.vttoth.com/TELNET_PPC.StrongARM.CAB or http://www.vttoth.com/TELNET_PPC.SH3.CAB directly.
